Ample fluids and broths
Drinking ample fluids including clear juices and broths is always a recommended treatment. Alcohol should be avoided, of course. Maintaining proper nutrition will help restore energy and give the body important nourishment.
No physical activities
A patient with the swine flu needs to stop all normal physical activity until they are no longer experiencing a fever, muscle aches and acute respiratory problems. Extended periods of rest and /or sleep will allow the patient to regain strength and avoid a delayed return to good health.
Pneumonia must be treated at the hospital
The most dangerous complication from the swine flu is the contraction of pneumonia. In these patients, hospitalization is considered a necessary treatment.
